So it turns out that my favorite New England news station has a sister channel that exclusively covers sports. Amazing! It’s called NESN, and, if I’m told correctly, is actually pronounced as one word instead of letter-by-letter. Sounds like: “Nessin.” Got it.
I inquired with my Sox-lovin’ neighbor Buzz about this strange, all-athletics frequency, and he launched into some tirade about how much they overcharge. I tuned out; I can barely afford basic cable as it is, so extra Comcast service is out of the question. Plus I’ll be watching from the bars.
Asked if there was one thing I need to know about Nessin to get started, he told me to get familiar with one Heidi Watney (pictured above). Apparently, she’s the Foxy Brown of this Sox shit mixed with a little bit of Pam Anderson and Gina Davis in the little-seen-but-truly-excellent Dustin Hoffman movie Hero. Noted.
