How I learned to stop worrying & love the Sox

It’s a lazy Sunday, and while I’d love to write a long diatribe about this, I’ll simply say this: fuck you, Major League Baseball. Fuck you, ESPN. And fuck you, Fox. All three parties are involved in the most anti-fan broadcast policy in sports. This shouldn’t be relegated to page 4 of the sports section - it should be on the front page to shame these greedy assholes.
What’s on ESPN tonight? The Reds and Braves, two teams that not a single Red Sox or Tigers fan gives a shit about. But the network is so concerned that they’re going to lose viewers if another game airs at the same time, they won’t even let it air across the street from where the game is being played! And MLB agreed to this policy!
Fox has a similar policy. Fearful that they’ll lose viewership among fans of out-of-market teams, they blackout all other games but the one playing in market. As if a Red Sox fan living in San Antonio is going to say, “aw, the Red Sox game isn’t on! Well, I guess I’ll watch this completely meaningless Diamondbacks-Astros game that’s on Fox instead!”
These greedy bastards obviously hate the fans. Fox and ESPN’s contracts are both up in 2013. We as fans need to give MLB an earful when they go to renew.

How I learned to stop worrying & love the Sox Several healthcare professionals have warned that I'll have a heart-attack unless I seek help for my psychotic hatred of pro sports.

As such, since I work less than one block from Fenway Park, I decided that the only remedy is all-out assimilation. During the 2010 season I hit 43 home games, and have since been referring to the Sox as "we" and engaging in all sorts of other foreign rituals.

Stick with me through my struggle to become a Sox fan, as I force-chug hella beer to numb myself like strippers do before they hit the pole. This is no joke. This is for survival, and for my book, "How I Learned to Stop Worrying & Love the Sox," which drops in 2012.
